The standard maintenance interval is every 3 to 6 months; however, for high-frequency usage (e.g., over 8 hours daily) or high-power modules, this interval should be shortened to every 1 to 2 months. Maintenance checks are also required when reactivating a module after a prolonged period of inactivity (more than one month). Maintenance procedures include: first, cleaning optical components-using a specialized lens cloth dampened with lens cleaning solution to gently wipe the laser output lens and remove surface dust or stains that could impair beam quality (avoid excessive force to prevent scratching the lens); inspecting the cooling system-cleaning dust from heat sinks and fans, and lubricating or replacing fans if rotation speeds are insufficient to ensure proper heat dissipation (for high-power modules, also check if the thermal paste has dried out and reapply it if necessary); and inspecting circuits and connections-tightening loose cables and interfaces, removing oxidation layers at connection points (using alcohol) to ensure good electrical contact, and testing the drive circuit's output current and voltage to confirm they match the module's rated parameters and to prevent current fluctuations. Additionally, inspect the module housing for damage and check mounting hardware for looseness, re-securing components as needed; test the laser output power and beam profile-if power drops or the beam shape distorts, troubleshoot the cause (such as lens damage or diode aging) and promptly repair or replace parts. Finally, record maintenance data and maintain logs to ensure traceability and guarantee the module's long-term, stable operation.
